Nominations for the Margretta Madden Styles Award
We are still seeking nominations for the 2008 recipient for the Margretta Madden Styles Award. The deadline is January 29, 2008.
First presented in 1987, the Margretta Madden Styles Award is named in tribute to the farsighted visionary leadership of the esteemed former Dean of the School of Nursing at UCSF. Its purpose is to recognize excellence in nursing among Alpha Eta members—in clinical practice, teaching, administration, or research. The selection of the recipient of the Award is based on three major criteria:
1) Evidence of leadership (innovation, creativity, inspiration, and empowering others)
2) Vision in nursing (considers the realities of today, while invisioning the possibilities of tomorrow), and finally,
3) Contributing to a positive image of nursing by being caring, professional, and enhancing the public image and image within the profession of nursing).
A letter of nomination addressing the criteria above can be submitted to:
Sigma Theta Tau International, Alpha Eta Chapter Leadership Committee
c/o Patricia Sparacino
